Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited

The power behind Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited is the people. CPJ has a team of almost 300 employees. Thirty-five percent of our staff complement is our Sales & marketing Team. The team is responsible for creating the demand for our brands in the market place. Our operational and administrative team is responsible for supporting the sales team, delivery of products and managing the accounts.

Every year we get together to celebrate the successes of our team members; this year we broke from tradition, and our team members were invited to bring a guest with them to share in their glory. What a night it was; the dinner and drinks at Bellefield Great House were delectable, and the guests, radiant!

But the evening was not about the dinner, the drinks, or the guests. As Mr. Mark Hart said in his opening remarks, “Tonight is about the stars at CPJ, and the people we are honoring for the outstanding contribution they made to our Company in 2010.” Mr. Hart went on further to thank the guests, “I want to thank the women, for making sure their men get up and come to work in the morning, and I also want to thank the men – for keeping the women safe at night”. Everyone was made to feel welcome and a part of the CPJ family.

CPJ is an extremely dynamic company, we are constantly in a state of change, and 2010 was definitely no exception. Mr Tyler spoke about the changes to expect in the upcoming year, including expansion into another island, St. Lucia, as the Company continues on its aggressive growth path, and commented, “As I look around the room, I see so many people who have been with the Company for so long. We are 100% Jamaican and strong!” It is the loyalty and commitment of this team that has made CPJ the successful Company it is today.

As the evening progressed, our Emcee for the evening, Mr Owen “Blakka” Ellis, kept everyone in fits of laughter as he related jokes in between the handing out of over 30 different Awards to the CPJ Team. Every Department was honored, and we also had a couple new awards this year, the “CPJ Image Award” and the Chairmen’s Choice Award.

By the end of the evening, everyone wore their green ribbons with pride and gratitude. Everyone was a winner on March 26, even if they didn’t receive an Award that night. Each day our team members come to work and give so generously of their time and talent, we appreciate it! Thank you fellow CPJ team members.

EXTREME LOYALTY

Four very special persons have been with CPJ for over 15 years, and their loyalty and commitment to the Company is inspiring. Courtney Hines, Errol Pennicook, Andrew Reid, and Valentine Robinson all started with us when we were selling toilet paper and hand towels. As the Company evolved into what it is today, Valentine says ,” the vision of the leaders, along with their open door policy kept me wanting to be a part of the Company. I have always been made to feel as if I am an important member of the team.”

Errol Pennicook also loves his job. He can’t see himself doing anything else! Errol has had so many memorable moments with CPJ, he couldn’t think of just one. But he says the people he works with with go out of their way to make him feel appreciated, and this definitely is a factor in him sticking around!

The feeling is mutual for Courtney & Andrew. Everyday they come to work.. they look forward to the new challenges! They love being a part of the dynamism and growth of the CPJ.

Scholarship 2011
We presented several scholarship awards to children of staff amounting to $1.5 Million. This year, thirty two children were awarded scholarships and bursars based on need and their academic performances the year before. The children were presented with certificates of achievement.

Business House Competition

We are pleased to announce that CPJ has entered the Upstream Business House (7-a-side) Competition season which began August 21, 2011 and will end in November. CPJ's first match is this Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Upstream Football Centre (across from Porto Bello first entrance) at 12.00 noon.
